We really enjoyed visiting the Science fair in the Halla during science week and were so impressed by all the work put in by 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class
In First Class A we experimented with Coca-Cola, a tooth and tarnished coins to see what the power of Coca-Cola would be. Jason was so kind to volunteer using his tooth for the experiment and we were all very excited to see the results. We made predictions and wrote up our experiments too, just like real scientists!
In First Class A we learned all about the different things plants need to grow. We also conducted an experiment to test out if seeds really need water, sunlight and warmth to grow, have a look at what we found!
This week we are celebrating Maths week in CETNS. We are playing lots of Maths games and going on Maths trails around the school. As part of Maths week the whole school is partaking in a Maths Challenge. The children can complete one of the challenges below during the week and bring them in on Friday. There will be four prizes given out to the winning creations. We will complete one or 2 of the projects in school however the children can complete others at home if they wish :)
In First Class A we were learning all about Autumn. We went on a nature walk around the school grounds to look for signs of Autumn. We spotted leaves changing colour and falling off the trees, we felt wind and colder weather and we noticed apples growing on trees. We then created our own autumn trees using pointillism techniques. Have a look at our wonderful work! |
